Using a selection of game engines (Second Life, Half-Life 2, Torque) and multimedia tools (Maya, Max/MSP, Photoshop) we will explore the creation and experience of art within and as a multimedia, multiplayer online world.
Students in art, music, dance, architecture, computer science, engineering, etc., will form interdisciplinary project teams to create interactive experiences that will merge gaming and art in new, emergent media experiences.
Concepts from game programming, scripting, design, 3D modeling, music, as well as aesthetic issues will be discussed in this project-oriented class.
